Au fait

I have many years of experience in a variety of different areas.  I home schooled my daughter from kindergarten through high school and wrote the curriculum myself.

I worked as a legal assistant to my former husband who is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School.  Sometimes I feel like I went to law school too.  It was my good fortune that he always shared and discussed what he learned in school with me later that same day.  I took the bar exam and passed with flying colors (just a sample test) but of course no one is allowed to take that test for real unless they have first graduated from an accredited law school.  I used to give general advice in certain areas under my husband's supervision and license as well as determine if clients had a cause of action.  That may sound easy, but there is very little that is cut and dried in the law.  Most things are gray, not black or white.

I’m currently a student, senior level, at one of the local state universities where I live, majoring in psychology.

My interest in psychology encompasses several areas including child development, relationships and marriage, social psychology, and more.  I especially like studying and addressing difficult subjects -- subjects that make a lot of people uneasy or uncomfortable.  Death and dying, sex education, and things that everyone has to deal with in their lives, but often prefer to avoid.  I've taken several courses in these areas of study and hope that I can make these subjects easier for people to think about and deal with in their own lives.

I have a lot of different interests, and I am a person who likes to learn and investigate new things.

While writing is not new to me, writing in this venue is, so I’m not entirely sure where my writings will go, but for now I’m thinking they will be a smattering of the things I’ve learned from my experiences and education, hoping they will benefit other people in some way.

In addition to my interests in psychology, law, politics, religion, education, and women's studies, there are the traditionally female interests in crafts, sewing, and cooking.  I like to design all kinds of things, and I have a diploma in interior design.  I love to create my own recipes and maybe I'll share some of them here eventually.

I hope you, my reader, will send me feedback.  I expect to learn from you as much as I hope to add positive things to your life.
